The automotive industry is undergoing a major transformation with the rapid shift toward electric vehicles (EVs). However, many infotainment systems still resemble those of traditional, non-EV vehicles and fail to fully respond to the evolving needs of EV users.
For the Porsche Macan, an anticipated EV release at the time, the infotainment system already featured a high-resolution touchscreen, smartphone integration, and advanced navigation. Yet, user reviews and secondary research highlighted issues:
The layout lacked intuitiveness, making it harder to find or access functions quickly
The interface wasn’t seamless or adaptive to EV-specific needs
Overall accessibility and user experience fell short of what a luxury EV brand should deliver

The visual design had to retain Porsche’s established brand identity, including the color palette, typography, and overall communication style. A cohesive visual system was defined to balance luxury aesthetics with functional clarity. The approach ensured that the interface maintained the premium feel expected of the Porsche brand while remaining practical and intuitive for users.
